Self-acceptance can be challenging when dealing with issues related to LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender, questioning). Sexual orientation, gender identity, gender confusion and ‘coming out’ are difficult topics to address. Additionally, family, friends and co-workers may be judgmental and lack knowledge and sensitivity.
It was most helpful to have a listening ear to help me affirm what is important in my struggles and feedback regarding those struggles and suggestions for guidance that helped me set priorities for my life.
Samaritan Counseling Center offers acceptance, non-judgmental support and counseling to deal with sexual identity issues.
